Merhaba,

Turkish music is so romantic and passionate isn't it!

I much prefer turkish music to english music, the words are so much more romantic / romantek

Please could somebody tell me what this means?

Seni Severim

Does this mean I have loved you? or does it mean I will love you again?

I have just listened to this song on you tube.com and it is so beautiful

Please can somebody tell me the meaning of this song in English ?

Cok tesekkur ederim

There are two forms of present tense

severim and seviyorum are the two first person forms of sevmek-to love.

There are two present tenses in Turkish. They are called the 'present continuous (or present progressive)' tense and the 'aorist'(timeless) tense.

The present progressive takes the stem of the verb 'sev' + the endings:

iyorum
iyorsun
iyor
iyoruz
iyorsunuz
iyorlar

and translates as 'I am loving' 'You are loving' He/she is loving' etc.

The aorist takes 'sever' + the endings:

im
sin
iz
siniz
ler

and translates as 'I love', 'You love' 'He'she loves' etc.

So, basically, 'Seni seviyorum' and 'Seni severim' mean the same thing.

I just wanted to add that Seni severim is in present simple tense. Yes it means, I love u, but also it's like saying:

I loved u in the past
I still love u
I will probably love u in the future too

I mean it covers all times
