Now that I know how Turkish sounds, it only sounds like Turkish to me.... :-S But I thought that it sounded a bit like Romanian/Bulgarian... (definitely much nicer then Russian!!!)

Can't help ya Kitty here, I love the sound of Russian and I think it sounds better than Polish. Polish is way harsher and has lots of sounds that foreigners abhor.

As for Turkish, the first time I heard it I felt it sounded a bit like a French person was trying to speak Chinese. I fell in love with that sound immediately

I was in the bus with a Turkish friend of mine, and we were speaking Turkish. There were two people next to us, who asked me what language I was speaking with Caner. They said they thought it was something Scandinavian. So to some people it sounds Scandinavian


I cant remember what it sounded like for me, though.

I was in a "rapido" train with a friend (Turkish) from "Frenze" to "Milano" in Italy. we were speaking in Turkish. Sometime in the middle of journey, one person came to us to tell something and asked which language we would prefer. He thought we were speaking in French (or similar). I guess there were a lot of French words during my conversation with my friend.

Usually we have French versions of the words entered to Turkish from European languages.
