i have recently learnt that the correct term to use on the back of a parcel is "gönderici" with the sender's address..
although, in the past i have sent a parcel with "gönderen" written on the back! :S i thought it would be like this.. is it a big mistake..?? is the "alıcı" gonna laugh at me???

"gönderen" is better. Gönderici sounds too artificial to be.

really?? thats interesting that you say that because when i received a parcel from turkey, the words "gonderici" and "alici" were on the box...

'Gönderici' is a newly addition to language. I don't think it is more than 20 years old. It might or might not have acceptance by the public. To me it sounds too artificial the same way as translated terms sound. On the other hand it is not a big deal as the word is clear to understand since the -ci suffix is so common.
