I knew there was a reason I did not book holiday in Turkey in June - to avoid the 'Brits abroad when the football is on', syndrome! No offence meant John, but ever been to a holiday resort and the football (Worldcup or Euro is on?) It is a nightmare! Fatmen in England tops who have never kicked a ball in their lives, know far more than the coach and of course the ref is crap whilst downing pint after pint lol YYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

p.s. I like football!

Hi Libra lady. been planning this trip for awhile and bit of coincidence euro 2008 on. I love football but slim, even tempered and will be with my wife!!!

just fancy watching and supporting turkey in a turkish atmosphere with the locals - and not in a british bar by the sea. no offence to british bars but reckon would be an experience and spend time with locals and make some friends. now i must go and practice the turkish for "ref you must be blind" "we were robbed" etc

As far as I know, according to friends in Istanbul, there will not be an open area broadcasting the match on big screen. Most of the big bars and restaurants will have big TVs to show though. Go to Taksim or Kumkapi, you will find them. Not all of the TVs in hotels will have the match showed as it depends whether they subscribe to special channels or pay for that match. Last time I missed the big match between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce when I thought I could watch in my hotel
