Hi,

I've been transcribing this radio show for learning Turkish quite a bit because the Turkish there is really slow and easy and great for beginners, but because there's no pdf or text available it's still too hard for those that don't know Turkish grammar.

In the last episode I transcribed though there's one part I can't hear and one part I have a question about:

Here's the part I can't hear (go to 3:53 of the mp3):

"Oradaki eviniz apartman mıydı?
Hayır, apartman değildi. Ayrı rustaki* bir evde. İki katlıydı."

That part with the asterisk that sounds like 'rus'. Surely it can't be Russia because there's no mention of it anywhere else and that would just be weird.

The other question I have is from this part:

Buradaki eviniz apartman dairesi mi?
Evet.
Bu evde balkon var mı?
Evet. Var.
Ayrı bir odan var mı?
Kardeşimle kaldığımız bir oda var. Senin bilgisayarın var mı?
Hayır. Yok. Senin var mı?
Evet. Var. İstersen, benim bilgisayarımda oyun oynayabilirsin.
Sağ ol. Teşekkür ederim.
Sizin ev nasıl? Apartman mı?
Hayır. Değil.
Sana ait ayrı bir odan var mı?
Kardeşlerimle kaldığımız bir odam var.

Why does she say 'sizin ev' (6:06 of the mp3) and not 'sizin eviniz'?

BTW there might be typos I haven't seen elsewhere of course.

It's good to hear that sizin ev is also okay. A lot of Korean friends over here I've showed Turkish to don't like how the -iniz goes on the end of the noun (the Korean phrase is equivalent to 'sizin ev' without the extra -iniz) so they'll like that.

Because she speaks very slovly. Its best for understanding. Also she uses her lips very well for lip reading. Its best to understand pronunciaton.

Actually my experience is, that the ommitance of the possesive after the usage of a genitive (so sizin ev instead of sizin eviniz) is mainly used for the forms bizim and sizin, and in informal spoken language, I actually believe more people to say bizim ev than bizim evimiz! (But only for the forms bizim and sizin and only in informal speech).
