i was having a conversation with my teacher and so he asked me to find a good turkish poem. he said that i have to prepare as early as now. it was turkish olympiad he mentioned. i have no idea what kind of poem to pick since i never really watched that kind of competition. haha. so anyway, any of you could suggest a poem? i prefer it to be a bit short and meaningful.

thanks.

This one fits right into your description.
It's one of the most beautiful poems written by Orhan Veli and it's pretty short. Hope it helps!
BEDAVA
Bedava yaşıyoruz bedava;
Hava bedava, bulut bedava;

Dere tepe bedeva;

Yagmur çamur bedava;
Otomobillerin dışı,
Sinamaların kapısı,
Camekanlar bedava;

Peynir ekmek değil ama
Acı su bedava;

Kelle fiyatına hürriyet,
Esirlik bedava;

Bedava yaşıyoruz Bedava;

Gönülle Başbaşa

Dudakları bir dal ateş, mercan gibi
Bakışları masum bir heyecan gibi
Yürürken titriyen o narin endamı
Pembe bir gül açmış taze fidan gibi
Fark edemiyorum gözle gördüğümü
Saçlarında bağlı aşkın kör düğümü
Bir tatlı rüya mı, bir canlı büyü mü?
Elim dokunuyor, fakat yalan gibi...
