Quoting lady in red: Quoting gencturk: geniuda : correct
sonunda : word by word correct
kali20 : absolutly not correct |
But geniuda's translation:Quoting geniuda:
my try,
Happy Birthday my friend...I missed you! |
is different to Sonunda's:
Quoting sonunda: 'it's good(fortunate) that you were born,my friend. I miss you.'? |
There is no mention of 'day' in the Turkish so surely sonunda's must be the right one? They are both 'birthday messages' but I think I would rather receive the second one! |
"Happy birtday" word by word translation to turkish is "Mutlu doğum-günleri" that is not used in turkish. instead used "iyiki doğdun" .
"iyiki doğdun" word by word translation to english is "it's good(fortunate) that you were born" .
of course you can choose second one its correct too.
i hope i am clear

Edit: Just saw gencturk's post - but I never heard that said before - always the 'doğun günün' one
|
I'd never heard that before either.
