Üzgünüm bugün cenazedeydim, Cenaze töreni çok hüzünlüydü.

i think "it" refers to "funeral" . if it is, translation is correct.

Can you explain why sonunda's translation was incorrect please? Also, would her translation be understandable - even if was not perfect?

ofcourse i can explain, at least i'll try.

"bugün cenaze töreniya, gittim."
"töreniya" must be "törenine". because of the turkish grammer. i cannot explain datailed because my english is not well enough.

"çok üzgündü" you cannot use verb "üzgün olmak" for funeral. you can use only for people (or animals). like: "Cenaze törenindeki insanlar çok üzgündü"
