How awful!
Three Turkish policemen have been killed and two others injured after assailants opened fire in front of the US consulate in Istanbul, the local governor and media reports say.

Three attackers were also killed in the gunfight.

"The 20- to 25-year old attackers used pump-action shotguns and handguns in the attack," Aykut Cengiz Engin, chief prosecutor of Istanbul, said on Wednesday.

The shooting occurred in the neighborhood of İstinye
on the European side in Istanbul. It is located between Emirgan and Yeniköy on the northwestern shore of the Bosporus, within the borough of Sarıyer. It is one of the finest seashore locations on the Bosporus where people walk around during the weekends. İstinye is famous for its cafés and seafood restaurants. A small bay is also among the things that make İstinye a preferred location to visit. Additionally, the neighbourhood is in close proximity to one of Istanbul's newest shopping malls, Istinye Park, which was opened in 2007. Istinye Park aims at the high-end consumer group and is mostly dedicated to the world's famous fashion brands.
