Hello all,
Although a small and minor earth tremor or earthquake this was just my second experience of a similar occurence.

At 10.30 a.m. Turkish time I felt my computer chair move and my computer was cut off, my wife phoned me to say there had been a small quake and I thought also it was. Did anyone else feel anything?

There has been an earthquake in Balikesir today, June 10th @ 10:49am local time. Magnitude reported as 4.9 in Richter scale. It's about 100 miles from istanbul, perhaps you felt it.

Nisreen,I just came across this:
Although earthquakes cannot be avoided, their impact can be mitigated through prior planning, specifically the enforcement of strict seismic building codes for new construction. However, the vast majority of Lebanon’s buildings constructed over the past 40 years lack any seismic qualifications.
