Yes - I always thought aramak was used for 'to call' but when I looked it up on the site dictionary to check I couldn't see that given as a possible translation so I went with the next best thing

I know but I have seen it translated as 'call' loads of times though.

Yes - ME TOO - it was my first thought but as I said I just used the site dictionary to check:
aramak
1. /ı/ to look (for), hunt (for), seek.
2. /ı/ to search.
3. /ı/ to long (for), miss.
4. /ı/ to ask (for), demand.
5. /ı/ to inquire (after).
6. /ı/ to drop in on.
7. colloq. to look for trouble. Arama! colloq. It´s too much to expect.
and thought maybe I had dreamt it all along.

I was agreeing with you that it wasn't in the dictionary as 'call'. I was just recalling what I had seen in previous translations.
PS-I looked up 'call' in English to Turkish in my dictionary and got 'aramak'
