Teach Yourself Turkish - David and Asuman Pollard.

Really good - the only trouble is that the book is not wellbound and starts to fall to pieces very quickly - mine is held together with treasury tags now!

Thanks

So you´ve found this book very helpful in furthering & understanding your Turkish Studies better?

I did a search on the Net. Amazing came up with a few copies.
It also includes a CD by the looks of it also.

Is that the best place to purchase it?

The mentioned TYS Turkish is good, I used it too, a good introduction to grammar and lower intermediate level. I would really recommend Pimsleur´s Turkish audio course for spoken Turkish in particular. I didn´t try the Turkish one, as it has recently been published, but have tried the Pimsleur method for Spanish and one can learn effortlessly whilst doing other things. The price is a setback tho.

See the reviews on
Amazon website

Also is it worth while grabbing
201 Turkish Verbs (201 Verbs Series) by Talat Sait Halman

Along with the TYS? Or not really needed?

I bought my copy quite a while ago - I think I ordered ıt through a local bookshop but over the net it is probably cheaper - you can buy wıth or wıthout the cd but it is best to have the cd.

This is a useful link on this site to online learning resources:

There is a link to recommended reading somewhere on the site but I´m sorry I couldn´t find it.

Yeah thanks for the helpful stuff everyone.

I´m going to purchase it online through Amazon, also as I stated above it recommends that other people purchasing the book also have purchased 201 Turkish Verbs (201 Verbs Series) by Talat Sait Halman with TYST.

Is this going to be useful or does the book already cover a wide range?

I think it would be useful - there is no verb list like this in TYS Turkish. Iyi şanslar!
