Does anyone out there know anything about Isparta?

When I marry my boyfriend next year we plan to settle in Marmaris but also plan to spend time in Isparta as this is his home town and where his family live. Is this a big modern city or will it be a real culture shock for someone like me from London? Of course I expect life to be different but I've not been able to get much information from the internet other than that Isparta is famous for its roses.

Any information or experience would be gratefully appreciated.
