Hey there

Is anyone in the North or East london area and want to meet up as a learning buddy, once a week or fortnightly.

I´ve been learning on my own for about 2 years, but never got much beyond basic beginer as courses have always clashed with my evening course.

Up for starting as soon as someone else can, as I´m off to see the in-laws in Turkey again in November, and a bit ashamed that my Turkish hasn´t improved any from last year.

Hope to hear from someone, or from a good link where I might find someone.

Cheers

Rob

Fair point, but, unfortunatly, speaking the language doesn´t automatically make you a good teacher. I know that from (trying to) teaching english myself.

I would like someone to meet up regularly to create a bit of structure to learning the language.

I´ve also been teaching myself for a couple of years with the aid of a few good grammar books but without the benefit of a live-in Turkish speaker! I should be so lucky!

Rbanford,

Can´t solve your live class issue (İ have the same problem myself) but for a formal learning structure I can only highly recommend the 16-lesson Teach Yourself Turkish (with the CD) you can find or order from Waterstones and other bookshops.

Next, for listening practice, Turkey´s national TV has live programmes over the Interet : www.trt.com.tr.
