i dont understand this grammer and how to use it as i hade an excersice about it

would any on tell me what does it mean  and how to use it

eger and sayet both mean "if". You can`t use them together.

Eğer hava  iyi olursa.........

şayet hava kötü olursa.........

 

2-ferdi yarin ne yapacak?

Eğer kendini iyi hissederse.........

şayet kendini iyi hissetmezse

 

3_onlar yariin ne giyecekler?

Eğer hava iyi olursa...........

şayet hava kötü olursa.............

 

 

4_bu akşam kaçta yatacaksın?

Eğer yorgun olursam.........

şayet yorgun olmazsam..........

OK.  Eğer and şayet both mean if.  But şayet is more old fashioned.

 

There is also an ending to the verb that means if:

 

-sam: If I

-san: If you

-sa: If he/she/it

-sak: If we

-sanız: If you

-salar: If they.

 

You can use Eğer ..... -sa, or just ...-sa without the eğer, and it means the same thing.

 

i.e. we can say "If you understand this ..." in different ways:

Bunu anlarsan ....

Eğer bunu anlarsan ...

Şayet bunu anlarsan ...

 

Hava güzelse plaja gideceğiz.  If the weather is ice we will go to the beach.

Eğer beni seviyorsan ara.  If you love me, then call.
