´Closure´ becomes ´opening´ for AKP

The ruling Justice and Development Party, or AKP, might have boosted its support 50 percent, in part as a result of surviving its closure case, according to a recent public survey.

If the current trend continues, AKP may reach 60 percent in the local elections. With their experience 10 years ago, people know that political crises trigger economic instability and directly impact their daily lives,  Prof. Özer Sencar from the Metropoll Strategic and Social Research Center told the Turkish Daily News yesterday.

Quote: Turkishdailynews

“Between 60 to 70 percent of voters do not consider that secularism is under threat in Turkey,”

Do they not consider or do they know but don´t want to see?

Second: is it really that bad as newspapers want us here to believe it is?

I guess a few questions need answering correctly in order to give right answers to your questions such as:

- Is AKP an islamic party that wants to bring sheria to Turkey?

- Do they have capacity to bring sheria to Turkey?

- Is it easy to bring sheria to Turkey that lived hundreds of years as a neighbour with the west?

- If it is not AKP then what else?

- How secularism is associated with authority, opposed to democracy, in Turkey.

- The fight between the big businesses which sucked the blood of common Turks for almost entire history of the republic and the non liberal small businesses from anatolia which want to have bigger share from the cake.

- Is it really a figth between them and sheria is just a scaring tool ?

- Army´s position in politics since the begining of republic ( maybe since the janissaries?)

- Conditions which made 50% of the population support them.

Something strange here: I can´t see your answer (only the quote) and everything at the right side of the page (chat, user statistics) is gone. Only at this topic, others don´t have that problem. Weird.

Can you answer your own ´sheria´ questions? I´m just a yabancı remember....

well..

I think my quick answers will be:

- Is AKP an islamic party that wants to bring sheria to Turkey?

Yes and no..Yes because AKP´s roots are islamic and in their heart of  hearts, they dream of sheria. No, because they have been shifting themselves to the center in politics (Turkey and being in power have been forcing them to change)

- Do they have capacity to bring sheria to Turkey?

Less and less people believe that they have. I believe they dont. But they should be watched closely.
- Is it easy to bring sheria to Turkey that lived hundreds of years as a neighbour with the west?

Definetely not. Ottomans associated with western culture for years and years. They effected the west, the west effected us.  (It is not a surprise that Turkey contains both western and islamic elements in its society)

ps..I am designing your virus..Please pm me with your requirements
