I heard about that too - sadly my first thought was:

"Excellent, I wonder if I can buy pork there?"

Sorry I was not meaning to Shout" it is just I thought this information could be nice for foreign visitors especially for ones who are from Poland.
Wait, you mean you couldnt find pork? Ask me where to find pork then The place i live is full of christians (in west istanbul) But I am sure you can find pork in that village too.. Hey it is not something prohibbited it s just soemthing cant be sold so much
