ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a "task that is from God."
In an address last June, the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it "God´s will."
Palin asked the students to pray for the troops in Iraq, and noted that her eldest son, Track, was expected to be deployed there.
"Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God," she said. "That´s what we have to make sure that we´re praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God´s plan."

Sarah Palin is an idiot. I wonder if she will feel the same if her son does not return from his tour of duty, although he will probably be quite protected now when he is sent over.
McCain was shrewd in picking her but ain´t it just like a man to hide behind the skirt of the chick and let her be the attack dog.

he said that he had been told by God to "invade Iraq as part of a divine mission"(which means crusade!)
He also called the Iraq war a "crusade".

America wake up!!! Sarah Palin´s another scary religious nut
America a theocracy??
Like President Bush, Palin employs the holy spirit to justify her policy positions. If it´s something you want, like an oil pipeline, you pray He´ll help you get it built. If it´s a badly mismanaged war (McCain´s words) then it´s all part of God´s plan, be patient.
To recap why the religious right is so excited about Palin, she wants to: Ban all abortion. Teach creationism in public schools. Abolish sex education. And fight wars that are "God´s will."

Analysis of what Palin means for McCain, Obama and the world followed only as a third step. Germany´s Die Welt argues in an article titled "McCain and his women" that with the selection of Palin, McCain essentially scratched his main argument against Obama - experience. Instead, writes the paper, McCain´s goal is to lure Hillary Clinton´s 17 million supporters over to the Republican side with the help of Sarah Palin, his wife Cindy and his high profile advisers Carly Fiorina and Meg Whitman.
Italy´s La Republica (via Handelsblatt) agrees that by putting Palin on the ticket, McCain hopes to steal votes from the Democrats especially from Hillary supporters. "This is McCain´s attempt to trump Obama", comments the paper. Dutch daily De Volkskrant (via Handelsblatt) takes a similiar stance and writes that with the surprising choice of Palin, McCain underscored that he is a more dangerous opponent than Democrats may have thought.

When I heard that he had picked her and she was from Alaska I knew it was about drilling for oil. They have been trying to get that done for many years.
I will not vote for someone that is willing to scarifice nature for a short term soloution. That is the problem with most politicians, they look at the short term instead of looking how it will affect us down the road. I guess they feel that will be someone elses problem.

ain´t it just like a man to hide behind the skirt of the chick and let her be the attack dog.
That reminded me of something Sarah Palin said:
" By the way, do you know what they say the difference is between a hockey mom and a Pit Bull? A hockey mom wears lipstick."
I´m not sure she´s painting a very nice picture of herself with that remark.

That photo seems to say everything about her lifestyle and attitude. What ARE they doing with guns by the pool? Please tell me this photograph has been ´doctored´ and Palin´s head has been superimposed onto someone else´s body. Unbelievable!
