Fethiye ready for wine

Forty-five kilometers outside Fethiye on the Kalkan road, the “Clos” itself is a modern creation of Mustafa Şıkman, a local architect and Honorary British Consulate for Fethiye. It is unpretentious but stylish and sits comfortably in the landscape. Its cool cellar houses the wine and according to its co-owner Fatin Ergen, will keep their new product at an ideal temperature.

The Fethiye Gardening Club comprises a growing number of enthusiasts who, apart from sharing gardening tips, travel around the area visiting each other´s gardens and professional horticultural centers. This month they kicked off their new season of outings with a trip to a new enterprise which suggested this part of Turkey was beginning to look beyond the parochial boundaries that have constrained it in the past. What did they find?

Another reason to visit Turkey? (I don´t like wine, so what will be my next reason?)
