Thank you for your explanation, MRX67 and Welcome back!

Recently I was invited to a free Ramadan Dinner after sundown.

These Iftar dinners are they just for the poor only or also for the general public?

They are for everyone, but mainly for the poor.

İ mean,if you are at your city and not travelling and got caught in the traffic or something, and Ezan called, you would break your fast over anything even some water * and prefer to go home to have iftar with your family

*Usually you find people at Ezan time giving passengers on the road, small bottles of water,or juice ´here they can give some date also´to break their fast on till they reach their home

They distribute them for free of course

Catwoman, I found you very interested in "oruç", why don´t you try fasting one day?

Hahaha, you are right - maybe I should! But I think I could only do with if I am promised good food in the morning and in the evening...

I bet the whole day you won´t be doing anything but dreaming of the food you will get in the iftar

Hahaa haaa, you get the best food ever in Ramazan at both evening and morning meals as you call them lol

Which actually not the main purpose of Ramazan...but that is what is happening in real

Food budget is increasing in that month for all families
