Expats fed up with Turkish problems

I just happen to  came across this topic  and was thinking of Richard, the British gentleman who married Nesrin, a Turkish lady:  Loveprague......

Expats who are in search of a peaceful and tranquil life in Turkey are overwhelmed by a host of problems, including traffic jams, discrimination and bureaucracy, a comprehensive study on expats living in Turkey conducted by the Ankara-based International Strategic Research Organization (ISRO/USAK) has found.

"When we demand that officials provide us with a church in which to perform our religious practices, they give us a negative response and point to the principle of secularism as a pretext," expats say, according to the study.

And then when locals in Cologne don´t want a gigantic mosque, they call it racism! lol {#lang_emotions_you_crazy}

Expats also stress that they are disturbed by Turkish society´s male-dominant structure and environmental problems and by the unsatisfactory services provided by city municipalities.

Well... I can understand that completely. It is VERY disturbing actually.

Personally I don´t like to see the new churches here in Turkey. There are many of them are being opened. Let´s face it, many of these expats are missionaries here. They are trying to turn Turks into cristians here. They use some financial weapons for this. They distribute propaganda materials everywhere. They sent invitations to meet at the churchs (I received such an invitation).

I don´t think Muslims are doing these kind of things in Cristian countries.

I support locals here. Last thing we need is a gigantic mosque in Cologne. They should not allow such a thing. If they do, that´s their decision. But they should not expect something like a big cathedral in Istanbul in return, not even chapels, we have enough of them.

I agree with you... but the problem is that they call it ´racism´ when they are not allowed something like that.
