I have one for everyone to answer here if possible, especially those that are turks are best to tell me why???

Why is it that a relationship between an older woman and younger man is frowned on in Turkey when it seems that there are already many relationships like this going on already in Turkey? There are even many married couples where the man is Turkish and the woman is from anywhere from England to America to even Turkish that I know about where the woman is much much older then her husband. Yet these couples are blissfully happy so why can't the people in Turkey accept the fact that love and happiness is more important then the age gap!

I guess this question was a little tough for most people to answer since I have not seen an answer for a week now.
Ok I will ask one more time if anyone out there can explain why an older woman/younger man relationship frowned on in Turkey? :-S

Merhaba Mina My fellow Classy classmate I cannot answer your question but I believe in love.
I am an American woman who is engaged to a TURKISH NATIVE YOUNGMAN OF YALOVA, he is 10 younger than I and I hope that when we finally unite together in Turkey that I am not frowned upon as you spoke of.......of course anywhere you are there are those who feel they can judge others as if they know it all or even have the right to judge in that way or any negative way they chose to react or see or should I say don't see the love of 2 souls and be happy for them whom ever they are where ever they may live. People this way I pity and hope they find happiness and love too, I think that is why they are blind in seeing it in the first place. May they enlighten themselves and there hearts.

I hope you get a response to your topic as I curious now as I had never heard that being a strong issue in Turkey, I am hoping it is not true.

Take Care and thanks for sharing.

Thanks Kelly for your honest opinion and like you I also believe in Love and Happiness more then what other people proceive as happiness of a younger woman person being more capable of making a man happier in the long run, it's all bull....!

Those conservatives in Turkey should lighten up and get with the program if you know what I mean, it's sad that more people limit themselves only to what they believe others to say about it and not what they feel in their hearts as being really true.

I lost my happiness and future to something similar to what I'am talking about because of people's negative beliefs of what Love and Happiness really is.

Ok, since we're getting more and more personal, here's a story:
May/December relationships had always seemed somewhat weird to me until my younger brother told us he was going to marry a woman who was 11 years older than him. After the initial shock it turned out she's really great. They've been together for 2 years now, have a gorgeous son and another child on its wayand they claim to be really happy. well...I believe them

My exact point Daydreamer!
If these so called conservatives in Turkey can just open their minds to on older woman/younger man relationship then there be more happy couples in the world.
