hello, again and again I am sorry for bothering some of you with my suffix troubles could you just tell me what the suffixes in caddesinin and ingilizce lisensini mean? Thank you!!

 Cadde means street, when you use it with a noun before it, like Greens Street, you have to use the possesive suffix, you say ´Yeþiller Caddesi, in Turkish..  when you say I crossed the Greens Street, you have to add the accussative suffix -i, as you are talking about this particular street.  Since your noun is ending with a vowel, you put the "n" in between.  Yeþiller Caddesini geçtim.

The same thing is valid for Ingilizce lisesini,  lise-si-n-i

For 1 word buffer (y) if end letter vowel I crossed the street : Caddeyi  karþýdan karþýya geçtim.

For Compound word:  Yeþiller Caddesi: 1st word modifies 2nd and cadde last letter vowel(e) That´s why, we put ´s´ buffer.Because in Turkish 2 vowel never together(exceptions: Persian,Arabic rooted words like saat(watch)

-n- versus -y-, which to use when

-n- buffer letter is called "zamircil n" (n pronomial) in Turkish. When there is a pronoun or possessive suffix you need an -n- after a suffix ending with a vocal.

Pay an attention to compound nouns because they end with possessive suffixes.

Hafta sonu = weekend

Hafta son-u-n-da = in the weekend

Hafta son-larý-n-da = in the weekends
