Turkey pay more than $20 billions per year for cigarette consumption. I bet most of it go to US companies. Last year a new law was passed banning smoking in many public places. There was an attempt to pass a similar law in 90´s (when Ozal was president) and it couldn´t be passed. US companies made a lo tof lobying for it. Even US president called Ozal and demanded that law not to pass.
The evil west is always behind everything. 
Are the people who smoke forced to do it by the west as well? Aren´t you (I mean what you are saying... ) a bit paranoid?
