How long did it take you to learn and speak Turkish properly?

Asking to whom?    Anybody could be addressed in a forum though... And isn´t this a translation page? haha... my sillyness?

It took me nearly 3 years to be able to communicate for me but to excel it, I needed to read lots of books/watching movies/a uni education/joining political debates etc. And that took more than 20 years..

 When do you think you will master it?

I have been with my husband for a long time now...still don´t speak Turkish...I think I just like the food.

 I never got those messages!  Maybe I did something wrong?  Or perhaps I got the only Turkish husband who speaks English and doesn´t write love letters!
