I want to kiss you all over.

(In learning Turkish, one of the most challenging aspects is knowing the proper form to use for compound verbal phrases. I would like to ask the help of all you native- (and near-native) Turkish speakers in translating the following compound verbs. I have chosen my examples in keeping with the theme of most of the translations requested here.)

 

PHRASES WITH THE SAME (AT LEAST IN ENGLISH) SUBJECT IN BOTH CLAUSES

 

I want to kiss you.

I was thinking about kissing you.

I decided to kiss you.

I decided against kissing you.

I considered kissing you

I hesitated kissing you.

I stopped kissing you.

I stopped myself from kissing you.

I convinced myself to kiss you.

I wonder whether I shall/will kiss you.

I wonder what it is like to kiss you.

I hope I can kiss you.

I dreamed about kissing you.

I fantasized about kissing you.

I debated whether to kiss you.

I might as well kiss you.

I gave myself permission to kiss you.

Do I have permission to kiss you?

I hate myself for kissing you.

I can’t forgive myself for kissing you.

I wished I could kiss you.

I have no desire to kiss you.

I felt like kissing you.

What would it be like to kiss you?

I remember kissing you.

I am afraid to kiss you.

I can’t stop kissing you

I refuse to kiss you.

Seni öpmek istiyorum.

 

I was thinking about kissing you.

Seni öpmeyi düþünüyordum (you do mean Ý was thinking of how it feels, whether to kiss or not etc..?)

 

I decided to kiss you.

Seni öpmeye karar verdim.

 

I decided against kissing you.

Seni öpmeye aleyhinde karar verdim (this one is probably wrong)

 

I considered kissing you

Seni öpmeyi düþündüm (??)

 

I hesitated kissing you.

Seni öpmeye çekindim / tereddüt ettim.

 

I stopped kissing you.

Seni öpmeyi býraktým (?)

 

I stopped myself from kissing you.

Kendimi seni öpmeyi durdurdum (???)

 

I convinced myself to kiss you.

Kendimi seni öpmeye inka ettim.

 

I wonder whether I shall/will kiss you.

Seni öpüp öpmeyeceðimi merak ediyorum.

 

I wonder what it is like to kiss you.

Seni öpmek nasýl bir þey olduðunu merak ediyorum.

 

I hope I can kiss you.

Umarim seni öpebilirim

Seni öpebileceðimi ümit ediyorum.

 

I dreamed about kissing you.

Seni öpme hayalini kuruyordum (?)

 

I fantasized about kissing you.

Seni öpmeyi düþlüyordum

 

 

I gave myself permission to kiss you.

Kendime seni öpmeye izin verdim.

 

I hate myself for kissing you.

Seni öptüðüm için kendimden nefret ediyorum.

 

I can’t forgive myself for kissing you.

Seni öptüðüm için kendimi affedemem.

 

I wished I could kiss you.

Keþke seni öpebilseydim.

 

I have no desire to kiss you.

Seni öpmek isteðim yok.

 

I felt like kissing you.

Caným seni öpmek istiyordu/çekti.

 

What would it be like to kiss you?

Seni öpmek nasýl bir þey olur?

 

I remember kissing you.

Seni öptüðümü hatýrlýyorum.

 

I am afraid to kiss you.

Seni öpmekten korkuyorum.

 

I refuse to kiss you.

Seni öpmeyi reddediyorum.
