can somebody tell me the real meaning of this frase

it means that we have to try hard to obtain the nice things in our life?

 It means:

The one who loves roses, can (must) handle its thorns (smt like that I guess)

It means to be able to stand the bad things that someone or something can bring, because you love that something/someone. To accept one´s flaws because you love them. Sometimes it takes goign through bad things to reach the sweet thing thats on the end of the road.
