I especially love the song Ben Seni Sevdiðimi, but I have a question. When I downloaded it, it is written as Ben Seni Sevduðumi, and it is even sung like this, not just this but other words too. Somebody told me it is Black Sea music, so does that mean it is a variation of Turkish? I would love to know more about this if anyone can help.

In the replies to the you tube posting are objections from some possible Turks - some of it in Turkish some English - obbjecting that it is located in Turkiye but is not Turkçe but is rather Karadeniz music - that is Black Sea.

It seem to me from the tone, the objection is to the departure from traditional Turkish sounds and patterns in the music. It does have a western harmonic sound to it, but if I heard it without explanation I´d identify it as northern Turkiye but not Istanbul traditional. It certianly isn´t like music in Hatay and the southern reaches of Turkiye.

We spent most evenings ast summer listening to a wonderful musician from the Black Sea l and this certainly sounds like the music he was playing.  I love it!  However, I know we have a member from the Black Sea area who can confirm it for us.

This is a black sea music and it s sung with Black sea accent. we use a different accent in turkish when speaking. For example " ben seni sevdüðumi" (ben seni sevdiðimi), "endürdün gaþlarini" (indirdin kaþlarýný), geçtü bizden sevdaluk (geçti bizden sevdalýlýk). but this is only when speaking, not writing language. there are different variations in other regions also. but writing language is called istanbul turkish which is proper turkish is common used.

here is an english version of this song by Volkan Konak. Enjoy it.

It is a beautiful song; how much do you know about the singer Kazim Koyunku?  There is a thread from long ago about him.  I wont say now, but I will try and find the thread.

Here is one, but there are others on the site.  It is a sad ending I am afraid.
