A Czech artist David Ceny, has launched his artwork depicting the member EU states in the EU Parliament (his sterotypical views of the countries). On the news you see the depictions hanging high above an entrance forum. I think it looks like the Council of Ministers building, but not sure.
His depiction of Bulgaria is that of Turkish toilets and the Bulgarian EU spokesperson voiced their disapproval and offence.
It also seems he has sparked further rows with Slovakia joing in demanding the removal of the massive artwork. He has also depicted Lithuania as five soldiers urinating over the border of Belarus. Something to do with the Eurovision song contest??
I have not taken time to found out yet how he has depicted Britain, if anything we should be a big toilet, as we are going down the pan right now or perhaps multi coloured depicting the many nationalities that live here.
An amusing thing is how sensitive some of the EU states are to what is meant to be a tongue in cheek stereotypical view of EU states. Furthermore someone in the EU has comission and agreed this work and paid him for it. Perhaps the same people arranged for it to be hanged high above the building entrance for all to see.
What an expensive Faux Pas, loved by euro sceptics (look how they are wasting our money) and I tend to agree on that point.
