Hello everyone, I wonder if you can help.  I am trying to list 7 virtues...like 7 personal qualities one should aim for...but I want to list them in Turkish and I´m having trouble finding the correct words and knowing if they are all in the right tense?

Roughly in English I want to say:

Honesty

Forgiveness

Dignity

Grace

Integrity

Kindness

Strength (of character)

In Turkish the closest I can get is:

dürüstlük

af

aðýrbaþlýlýk

zarafet

bütünlük

þefkat

metanet

Does that make sense??  {#lang_emotions_unsure}  Or does anyone know of any Turkish words that may be better?

Many thanks!  {#lang_emotions_smile}

Why for "forgiveness" "merhamet"??? I´d say "baðýþlama".

because he asks the words for characteristics. but we can say baðýþlayýcýlýk, which means the same as merhamet.

zarafet sounds elegance or being beautiful as appearance more generally, doesn´t it, my Turkish friends?

We are not talking about elegance here, I guess. We need another word in Turkish for this "grace" term.

maybe he is really talking about  zarafet, but anyway, if we use incelik, maybe it is better?

hmm...maybe there is no exact equivalent to the English word grace, I am looking for a word that evokes ideas of being subtle, delicate, gracious.

Maybe you have some Turkish words that describe desirable human qualities that perhaps English doesn´t have words for?
