I’ve seen this film twice,once in the cinema,the other on a telly.Absolutely absorbing,stunning and gripping.I tend to say for a discerning recipient only.Its authenticity and cinematic art of a cast makes it a masterpiece.Wide angle shots and close ups make watching it a pleasure.Musical score fantastic and these Black Sea shots...definitely amazing.
The movie can shock,tears can well up in eyes,but it is far away from soppy ones.Although in western countries people do not queue for tickets- the film is a must.
Not to mention the fact that two of the leading parts are acted by Hanna Schygulla as a mother-an actress of Polish origin and Patricia Ziółkowska as a daughter,the same !
Psychological drama which is coming up with important question of choices,unclenching hearts and showing how far away people are from each other ,even in a family.No wonder it was awarded....magic of the cinematic art came into light again due to Fatih Akin.
