For anybody that likes a lavish coffee-table recipe book with Turkish recipes and travel pictures. I have flicked through the pages of this book and was impressed with everything but the cost (locally). I noticed Marion has given the book a review as well.

If you see the book, have a look through it and post a comment.

That reminds the guy who travels throughout Turkey to find good places to eat. His program is broadcast on cnn Türk. I have to admit after watching that program sometimes I feel like going to those places to eat.

You can find videos of his program in this page.

Thanks very much for that link si++.  Great for the food but also I find his Turkish very clear and easy to listen to, so very helpful from the language point of view too (I only watched one so far but I was surprised how much I actually understood!)

I noticed my local bookstore had the book and I´ve flicked thru the pages. It´s beautifully done and I loved the pictures as well as the recipes. I didn´t buy it because of, like you mentioned, the cost, and because I already have several Turkish, Meditteranean and Middle Eastern cookbooks, so I couldn´t possibly justify to myself buying another one. But overall I loved it, I thought it was beautiful.

The writers Greg and Lucy Malouf´s books are great. Here are links to Greg´s video about Lebanese food.  I love it and it makes one hungry just by watching the videos and one can see the resemblence between turkish and lebanese food.

btw, Malouf is lebanese

This is such a lovely book.  I bought it for myself last month.  It has some great pictures of Turkey and some history of Turkish cuisine.  Beautifully written.  I highly recommend it!

The UK cover price is 30 pounds (see the end of my article!)

And it is 30 pounds at Greenhouse in Istanbul (come in and see us in person, or here on the web: http://www.greenhousekitap.info/index.php/About-Turkey/Turquoise.html)
