How do you translate to be

How do you translate the to be state without additional verbs ?

e.g:
Don't be shy
Be carefull
Be smart

Don't be shy = Utanma
Be carefull = Dikktli ol!
Be smart = Akıllı ol!

Philio - this was a good question and a good answer, thank you. sometimes its hard to think of good questions for grammar.

Let's see more of this - it was very helpful I hate 'olmak' I get in such a muddle with it.

So don't be carefull would then be
Dikktli olmu!
or does the noun takes the negative suffix ?

For Don't be careful, you can say Dikkatli olma. The verb negative is -me and it can change only to -ma.
