Nothing wrong with that. Any country that has signed the Geneva Convention and is part of the UN should be doing the exact same thing actually. It is more of a matter of having the balls to do so. Every leader in the world knows very well how they are supposed to react to Israel´s aggression. Only a few have the balls to step on toes though.
I think it is very appropriate and am certainly glad that this is happening. Maybe other countries will follow the lead.
If there is a War on Terrorism, the standards shold apply equally to all those that terrorize. There is something that is called state-sponsored-terrorism, and Isreal´s actiona certainly fit into the description.
Additionally, similar charges would be appropriate for Dick Chenney, Rumsfeld, Blair, and of course Bush Junior for what they have done in Iraq.
I completely agree with you. All those people you are mentioning should be taken to the court.
The action taken by the chief state prosecuter of Turkey should be an example for every country..
In fact the action of ´being able to take the perpetrators into account for the crimes against humanity which had been committed any where in the world!´ should be an accaptable form.
Although I believe the cheif prosecuter taking this action on the bases of Turkish Penal Code and smells like a bit of a show case. I wish they could do it whithin the body of War Crimes Tribunal..
But however, if we are going to accept this action as an acceptable norm, then we should not be cross and angry when other countries ask us ´what is going on with the kurds? what did you do for those thousands of missing kurds? ...´
if we are accepting this case happily (or the Erdogan-rightly!!- accusing Perez and Israeli state in Davos), then we should accept that some country´s PM will accuse our state and our president as well..
If we do not, we will display ourselves as "double faced" I am afraid..
