could be any,without any more information it´s difficult to tell.

not quite sure what the original message was supposed to mean as it´s totally out of context with the conversation.... maybe sometimes things get lost in translation.....

ah ha ´in town´ makes sense  - thank you.

 

The other part is confusing as it is in the past tense.....  can that happen in translation or is my canny friend having two different converstations ?!?

The past tense is often used when they mean the present.

 

eg anladým=I understand

 

seni özledim=I miss you.

I´m trying to learn some Turkish myself .... but I think it is going to be a long and painful process!  Thank  you for taking the time to explain xx
