Hi Please could someone translate this for me?

"How is your sister in law now? Have been told this week that one of my best friends has cancer. After my mother comes back from holiday tomorrow I will be staying with her at her house for a while. It was a shock, but with all the support and treatment she will get I am hopeful that she will get through this. I have spent much of my leave visiting her"
