I decided to bring this before Tamikidakika..

Bulgaria’s Turks in stress
The European Commission against Racism and Intolerance, or ECRI, recommended that Bulgarian authorities improve Turkish community members’ situation in Bulgaria, particularly the protection of their economic, social and cultural rights.

.. "Several Turks hold high-level government posts (at ministerial level) and many mayors are from this group. Turks also participate substantially in the electoral process," it read.

However, the report said problems still existed, particularly in the education field. Turks have a lower standard of education and a higher unemployment rate than Bulgarians. ...

Turkish is taught as a mother tongue from the first to eighth school years. But only 20,000 to 30,000 Turkish children receive their education in their mother tongue. Other issues still have to be resolved, particularly that of deciding whether the language should be taught as an optional or compulsory course.

The report voiced concern that an extreme right-wing party, the Nationalist Union Attack, has been launching virulent verbal attacks on Turks as an ethnic and religious group. ...

called on politicians to combat all manifestations of racial or religious intolerance toward Turks.
