Dear Lynette, There is a problem in this sentence... I think you missed some words because we can´t catch the meaning...

(my opinion)

something is missing I presume, but my try:

I understood why you are doing the action without salut/greeting

ben anladým sana niye eylem diyorlar sen selam vermeden eylem yapýyorsun

ben anladým = I understood

sana niye eylem diyorlar = to you they say "why act?"

(maybe why protest)

my guess for the last bit:

sen selam vermeden eylem yapýyorsun = you giving a greeting (hello), you are acting (or you are protesting)

Not sure about vermeden

verme = giving, or verme = don´t give

Edited (3/17/2009) by Henry [dictionary has eylem yapmak = to protest]

without "diyorlar" you added later it makes NO sense!

I have understood now why they call you "action"; you are making an action without/before saying hello.

"eylem" is a female name as well.

My try:

I understood why they are saying "acting" to you, when you protesting even when you say hello.
