Sen vs Siz

How can one ask in Turkish whether it´s ok to use the sen vs siz with that person? I was talking with someone who is my age, so I used sen, but he used siz back to me, so I switched to siz and then he switched to sen. Too confusing and I had no idea how to ask lol. I hope I wasn´t too rude. Head bang

You are right it is too confusing. I am a Turkish person but sometimes I  live the same situation,too. you can ask "sen dememin bir sakýncasý var mý?" or "siz mi yoksa sen mi dememi istersiniz?"

 

We use sen with informal speech and siz with formal...

I think people use "siz" when they talk to someone they dont know/older than them.

I like the second one better, it seems easier to remember.

 ha ha I love those situations sooooooo funny,, like playing jo jo ,im sure this   guy didnt think you were rude Im sure he found it quite funny tooBig smileits when you pronounce something wrong and it means something um ,lets say sexual, I have made many mistakes with these aswell ,but I suppose it breaks the water, if you know what I mean likeBig smile
