why did you use don´t be? I think olm is short form of another word

(but OÐLUM  or OLM  mean is how turkish younger generation  call eachother )

Try to avoid calling anyone, other than your own son, "oglum". The hidden implication is that you have had an indecent affair with his mother (or father, as the case may be).

 

Some people may in fact be offended, if you address them as such.

I think in this sentence oðlum means dude (. In Turkish; if we are good friends, we sometimes use  "oðlum"and it´s meaning is close to dude. we say it instead of "dostum".It is slang)

it is closer to Rod Steiger calling an - older than himself - black American "boy !" in one of his old films.

It is usually degratory, never nice or polite.
