This dance is known as “Trabzon kolbastisi” and also called “hoptek” and “dance of faroz” in Trabzon city. Kolbasti dance first appeared in Faroz (a small street) in Trabzon. After 1980, it became populer all around Trabzon. After 1985, it s started to known in other cities. Dance music usually comes from Giresun and for this reason it revealed a discussion between 2 cities. Because it s called Trabzon kolbastisi, not kolbasti.

Actually, Trabzonspor made a great contribution to introduce this dance all around turkey. Especially after the matches Trabzonspor footballers celebrated their win with a kolbastý show.

Normally boys sit down and form a circle. 2 person dance in the middle of circle together. Every couple performs a figure and changes to another 2 persons with a different figure.  

there are many figures in this dance. Casting a net or pulling, pulling fish, slapping, heart massaging, sword-shield (famous turkish dance figure ), oaring etc.
