 Dilli - could you explain that please.  Why bende and not ´im´ ending?  I was following the same structure as ´I have three daughters = Üç kýzým var´ (which is the way I learnt it and no-one has laughed at me yet! - but does this mean it should be ´Bende üç kýz var´?)

Also - what is ´masý´ ending there please?

if we translate it literally, it would be "sýkýþmýþ (bir) sinirim var"

if s/he is talking about "nerve entrapment", then it is called "sinir sýkýþmasý" in Turkish, so this ending is not something I added but it is in the name of the disease

when we are talking about diseases, we say "bende ... var" (bende yüksek tansiyon var, bende guatr var, vs.), that´s why I used this structure.

your translation: " ´I have three daughters = Üç kýzým var´" is correct. you could say "bende üç kýz var" but it sounds funny when you are talking about people, but this is possible "I have two towels - Ýki havlum var OR Bende iki havlu var" .
