I think this is an example of amibiguity in Turkish language.

Here goes what I think about it (hope it´s correct):

Football team is "futbol takýmý".  Takýmý = takým (team) + ý (3rd singular person suffix).

-da suffix usually has a ´y´ buffer letter, however after 3rd person suffix (both singular and plural) it uses ´n´ buffer letter. So ´n´ before ´da´ can be this buffer letter, but it also could be a letter from ´in´ suffix (2nd singular person suffix).

So takýmýnda can mean both of these:

  • takýmý + nda - in team
  • takýmý + n + da - in your team

I suspect that if one wants to say "in your football team" then he/she has to put word "senin" before "futbol takýmýnda"; and if there is no "senin" before "futbol takýmýnda" then it means "in a football team". But, as usual, I´m not sure about it - maybe some expert or native speaker can help here?

Whichever it is (and I agree about the ambiguity-I´m probably wrong about the ´your´ bit) you can´t just say ´I´m not playing in football team´  It has to be ´...........the football team´ or ´.........a football team´

Thanks for pointing this - my English is still very "careless" . I meant "I´m not playing in a football team"
