Here is my try. I´m just learner, I hope someone will help here if there´s something wrong with my translation.

First, I think that few words were misspelled in your sentences - here are changes I´ve made to them:

Fýrtýnaya karþý söðüt dalý misali eðilip bükülmektense,

çýnar olup kökümden sökülmeyi tercih ederim.

And here´s my translation:

Facing a storm, I would prefer rather to be uprooted like a chinar, than to be bent and twisted like a willow´s twig.

Just a small correction to the English (which I know is not your first language Tomac). In English we don´t use ´prefer´ and ´rather´ together.  It has to be ´I would prefer to be uprooted ´ or ´I would rather be uprooted´´

Thank you very much for your corrections, lady in red! Flowers  When I´m not sure how to write something in English then I usually write it "almost like in Polish" - looks like it doesn´t always work

Just for Malene30, here´s fixed translation (I hope it´s 100% correct this time):

Facing a storm, I would prefer to be uprooted like a chinar, rather than to be bent and twisted like a willow´s twig.

Just one thing-I have no idea what a ´chinar´ is!

(oooh-apparently it´s a tree!  Big smile)

Me too I just found that in dictionary (*):

http://www.turkishdictionary.net/?word=%E7%FDnar

And (by the way) it seems to be this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platanus_orientalis

(*) Well, dictionary also says it can be translated as "plane", but for me it sounds too similar to "airplane" so I chose "chinar". Maybe it would make sense to replace it with "plane tree" ...
