ay çok güzel bir çocuk az kaldý geliyorum

 

Aaah very nice a child I am coming in a short time

 If "ay" mispelled, and was meant to you "ah" then you are correct.   "ay" means either "moon´ or month.   Another possiblility is

"The moon is a very beautiful child,  I am coming in a short time"  A little more context would help.

 Thanks very much. There is no other context so maybe it is a spelling mistake. Much aprreciated.

 Agree with you. Ay! is used as an exclamation. It fits this context.

 

I would probably have used a freer translation to capture the Turkish expression into English:

 

Aah. What a lovely child! Not long left until I come.

 Thanks Marion. It sounds a lot better the way you have done it. And makes better sense in the context as well. Why do I forget my English???????
