Hi,

I want to know if the translation is right or not?

Bu sarkilarda olmasa
Telefonlar calmasa
Arkadaslarim aramasa
N´apardim kim bilir ?

Even if these songs didn´t exist

If telephones didn´t ring

If my friends didn´t care

Who knows what would I do?

Thanx

In my opinion it was close, with an odd error, but poetry and songs sometimes do not translate well (literally) in all cases.

Bu þarkýlarda olmasa (If it weren´t for these songs)
Telefonlar çalmasa (If telephones didn´t ring)
Arkadaþlarým aramasa (If my friends didn´t call)
Ne yapardým kim bilir ? (Who knows what I´d have done?) Big smile

Thank you for you helpFlowers , but if it wasn´t a song, could one translate "olmasa, calmasa and aramasa" as a conditional present tense?

Thanx

I think so. Here´s an excellent  web-page from Manisa Turkish that may help your understanding

http://www.turkishlanguage.co.uk/conditional.htm
