teþekkürler, indeed a very sad song, but I just love it! thanks for the translation, someone else told me that the song is actually about an impossible love story between a man and a woman, so like they were talking to each other. But your translation makes indeed more sense.

Your welcome.   When I started learning Turkish my step-daughter gave me a CD of Fikrets and I struggled to understand what some of the words were.  But in this case there were at least written down.  His work exemplifies a certain genre of  Turk Folk music "Halk  Muzik".
