"Konuþ" is a root of "konuþmak" verb, meaning "to speak". "-ip/-ýp/-up/-üp" suffix, as far as I know, can be used when there are two verbs and you want to say "verb1 VE (meaning AND) verb2" - you can use "ve" here, but you can also remove it, and append "-ip" suffix to "verb1" (without any tense and personal suffixes).

So, for example, if you want to say "I came to my room and sat down" you can say:

"Odama geldim ve oturdum".

Or you can say it like this:

"Odama gelip oturdum".
