how long does it take in studying turkish language???
It depends on what level of proficiency you wish to achieve!? Turkish is a very logical, regular and a comparatively easy language to learn ... at a very basic level. One can begin to make oneself ´UNDERSTOOD´ by native speaker ... using words, gestures and ´broken´ [incorrect syntax] phrases and sentences, within a given context [shop, restaurant, station, salutation, greeting, etc.] >>> FAIRLY QUICKLY.
Difficult bit to be able to ´understand´ the spoken language > as spoken at street level, and spoken rapidly. It takes a long time for ears to get used to ´conversation´. Few, if any, of Turkish acquaintances will make allowance for a learner!!!! ... even simple words like ´ya sen?´ and ´neypon´ [ne yapiyorsun?], ´bidefa´ [bir defa - sounds like bedeva] ... can cause one to be left wondering.
Imaginative use of language, involving combination of words and longer sentences >> needs lot of endeavour. Turkish is not a language but an ´Art´. No wonder it is aptly remarked ... ´Arabic is a language, Farsi is sweatmeet, but Turkish is an art´. It is a fascinating language. Even though I love Turkish ... I can just about manage a simple conversation.
One must be prepared to go through periods of grave doubt and frustration >> but [relatively] soon it ´gels´ together. There is hope at the end of the tunnel ... but do not rush. Insha´Allah you will get ´there´ ... persevere. Keep in touch with this site, it is full of wonderful members ... despite some ´in fighting´ and controversy on occasions. This only makes matters lively and more interesting!!
