Hi! I am new here, and just have a few questions and some sentences I was hoping for some help with.

Can you say ‘görürüm’ to mean I understand?

As in English we say ‘I see’ but mean ‘I understand’.

If I wanted to say something along the line of ‘I’ll be back in a tic´, are there any slang/colloquial words like ‘tic’ ‘sec’ ‘jiffy’?

Also, do these sentences make sense?  (or rather, do they mean what I am trying to say?!)

Ben kýpkýrmýzý gittim.

I went bright red.

Þimdi yatmayý ihtiyacým var.

I need to go to bed now.

Ben geri evdeyim.

I am back at home.

Ben ögleden sonrada eve uyumayý gideceðim.

In the afternoon I will go home to sleep.

‘Building’ için kelime ne?

What is the word for building?

Þu birinci defa deðildi.

That was not the first time.

Tabaklarý masada koydum, ama yemegi deðil.

I put the plates on the table, but not the food.

Thanks!

welcome to site.

1. You can´t say "görürüm"   to "i understand". You can say "anladým or anlýyorum" for that.

2. For building, actually i couldnt understand what you are asking exactly about it but, "building" meaning is in Turkish "bina". For example; municipility building (belediye binasý), their building (onlarýn binasý). I hope ý could help you.

Maybe ´bir dakika´ (´one minute´ would be appropriate here.  It´s usually sounds like ´birdika´ when it´s pronounced and to me it seems like the equivalent of ´hang on a tic´ in English.
